The brief
To create a home version of the industrial bag sealer to be used in the kitchen to seal sandwich bags, bread bags and bin bags. It had to be suitable for mounting on the inside of a cupboard or used freestanding.
The bang
We wanted to get as far away from the ugly bulky industrial sealers as possible whilst still using the same standard tape sizes. To design the product for a modern kitchen we went for a clean, bright look with rounded corners. As the design was to be wall mounted or used as a standalone item, the team came up with a method of using the plastic wall mounting case to double as a stand in free-standing mode. This case also keeps all of the mechanism covered when not in use.
The result
Sealabag is a discrete and versatile solution to a common kitchen problem able to seal all bags from freezer to bin bags. It is now selling through multiple retailers in the UK and the US and is available on Amazon.
