The concept was fully funded after its launch on Kickstarter by a Danish engineering firm. Afterwards the design was acquired by Posturite.
They tasked us with redesigning and engineering Opløft to perform more effectively, conform with safety, hit a commercially viable unit cost, whist retaining its Scandinavian good looks and ultra slim profile.
We turned Opløft into a commercially viable product. We were responsible for making the concept work in the real world, whilst maintaining a beautiful aesthetic.
In the Kickstarter campaign video, the desk looked great and performed well. In reality, friction was causing the desk to be incredibly stiff to close and was not locking solidly in its different positions. It also failed its external safety review on many points. We solved all these challenges, testing iteratively with multiple prototypes, built in-house.
In a saturated market, we are managing the large volume production of Opløft.
After our re-design, Opløft met all safety requirements, as well as being easier and more ergonomic to use, with a greater level of mechanical assistance. While maintaining its ultra slim 30mm depth, locking solidly and raising/lowering smoothly.

Opløft has also been featured in the news. See our blog post.
